You can leave your production material or batteries with us, or have your recycled materials returned immediately - it's entirely your decision.

We build new batteries
If you wish, we can get your existing batteries going again or build new batteries from your cells ('2nd life'). These batteries are used in lightweight vehicles (trucks, municipal vehicles, all kinds of lightweight vehicles) or fixed applications (solar or wind power, breaking of peak loads in the power grid, backup power supplies, electricity trading, etc.).

'Spoke-and-Hub' is the most efficient solution
Decentralised locations for collecting and recycling production material and batteries - 'spokes' - combined with central locations for refining and manufacturing the precursors - 'hubs' - allow the overall refeeding costs to be kept to a minimum.
Librec is building a network of collection points and recycling plants ('spokes') in Switzerland, Poland, Germany, France, Italy and other countries. From there, the recyclables can be safely sent to the central refining plant (hydrometallurgy) and to your partner for active-material (precursor) production with minimal transportation expense.

All the batteries we receive are tested to enable us to decide whether or not they are suitable for a 'second life' as fixed power store (upcycling). These batteries are then used in a 'second life' as power stores for solar power systems, emergency power storage or even to balance loads in the power grid.

Our system essentially revolves around recycling all lithium-ion drive batteries. We use state-of-the-art technology to recover all materials from the batteries. We recover the casing, the liquid electrolyte and all organic substances, as well as the valuable copper and crucial cobalt, nickel and lithium. Our products undergo hydrometallurgical processing, and are guaranteed to be totally reused by our contractual partners for new batteries.
