Batteries of electric cars are soon to be recycled on the paperi site.
The plans on the Papieri area in Biberist become more specific: the area developer Hiag has found a tenant. The high-tech start-up “Libre” is planning the first Swiss recycling center for batteries from electric vehicles in Biberist. For the “long -term and future -oriented commercial team”, HIAG wants to “realize a tailor -made new building”, as she writes in a message from Monday.
The a good 3000 m² and multifunctionally designed commercial bar is created in the eastern part of the paper area. There should be an office floor. In addition, an outside area of the same size.
The system that will be used in the building has so far been unique in the world, writes HIAG. In the long term, up to 40 employees should take care of the operation of the facility, its further development and the business organization.
The aim of the start-up Libec is to win and recycle over 90 percent of raw materials from the batteries. As a result, the amount of primary raw materials that are necessary for the production of batteries can be reduced. Since the new technology is used for the first time in the recycling center, it is important that the new building is as flexible as possible for the future development of the system.
